A balance records what an account held at a moment. From your balances and the transactions since, Kaizora works out your net worth: what all your accounts hold together, debts subtracted.
Log a Balance
- Choose Log, then Account Balance.
- Choose the Account.
- Type the Balance and choose its Currency. For a credit card or a loan, what you owe is a negative balance.
- Set its time and choose Log.
A bank statement with a balance column brings in the balance after its newest transaction for you.
You don’t need a balance every day. Each account’s balance today is its latest balance plus the transactions since, so one balance a month, or a statement’s closing balance, keeps it right.
The Balances Page
Money › Balances shows:
- Your net worth over the chart’s range, across every account. Pick an account in the chart’s heading to see that account’s balance history instead, in its own currency.
- History: every balance you logged or imported.
- Metrics: Net Worth, always across all your accounts.
How Net Worth Is Worked Out
For each account, its newest balance before a moment plus the transactions since, then every account together, each amount converted to your display currency at the exchange rate of its own date. A transaction with no account isn’t part of any balance, so it doesn’t change your net worth.
The Kaizora Financial Health Score uses your net worth’s trend over a year, and Emergency Fund Coverage compares your checking, savings, and cash with your spending.
